Goverment House
Location: Christiansted
The
imposing building on King Street in
Christiansted is an outstanding example of
the spendour of the Danish colonial
architecture and the opulance of the sugar
plantation era. Massive ballrooms were the
site of spendid gathering hosted by the
governors of the colony on the late 1700s
and during the 1800s. It is still used for
government functions, and is in the process
of undergoing a major historical renovation
and preservation.
