Each of the Virgin Islands has its own carnival-type celebration
and they are usually local holidays. St. Croix has its Christmas
Festival around January 6th. Each celebration includes
inter-island participation in parades, floats, flupes, moko
jumbles, steel bands, etc. One surprising St. Croix event which
locals and visitors enjoy is the St. Patrick's Day Parade in
Christiansted held around mid-March.
